Wellness Exams and Preventive Care: Best Medicine Or Marketing?
By Dr. Steven Wolchinsky, Veterinarian
Keeping your best friend in good health for life is the TOP priority of Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital. Since your pet can’t tell you how they’re feeling, it’s best to rely on regular physical examinations by a Veterinarian to assess your pet’s health. There is no question in my mind that a wellness exam, along with preventive and proactive care, is the best way for our pets live longer and healthier lives. That is why we have created new pet Wellness Plans here at Rocky Gorge.
Wellness Plans are a great way to ensure your pet is getting the best care for one low monthly payment.Because dogs and cats age seven times faster, on average, than people, significant health changes can occur in a short amount of time. Think about it, a year of extra life for your pet is like extending your life by up to seven years. Seven more years of kisses and time with your best friend.
One of the main reasons these regular wellness exams aren’t embraced more frequently in veterinary medicine is cost. We’ve made our plans simple and affordable while focusing on providing the best medicine. Our plans include all vaccines and wellness exams that are recommended, as well as unlimited office exams with low, sometime no, co pay. They really are great plans and a great deal. Plus our plans are flexible. If you chose a plan that goes beyond just wellness and vaccines, you get a choice on how to spend your funds so it best serves your pet’s needs. You can also add on Heartworm and Flea & Tick products to your plan and pay for them monthly to make it financially easier. Another added benefit of being on the plan is that most of our other services and products are discounted 10-15% if you’re a Wellness Plan customer.
These plans are a great value, so be sure to ask your Veterinarian more about our plans at your next visit or you learn more about the plans on our website.
The team here at Rocky Gorge is committed to providing the best, most complete veterinary care available to the pets of Laurel, Maryland and surrounding areas, 24 hours a day.
