The new Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort, & Spa is like nothing else found in the Baltimore-Washington area. It is one of the most advanced animal care facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort, & Spa combines the latest comforts and high-tech capabilities in a handsome western lodge setting. The building has a stunning stone face front framed by a dramatic teal aluminum rooftop. The outside of the Hospital and Resort is graced with a waterfall feature offering ambiance and the soothing sounds of cascading water.
The lower level of the facility, which is entered from the side parking lot, is all about pampering your pet in comfort and style. It includes the Rocky Gorge Resort for Pets, Pet
Boutique retail sales area, Grooming Spa Facilities, a large indoor Doggy Day Care Camp, and a huge outdoor Dog Activity Park.
From the moment you enter Rocky Gorge Resort and Spa, you will realize that you're not in an ordinary boarding kennel and grooming facility. The rustic and dramatic waiting area adorned with oak wood accents, stone colored tile floors, and earth-toned wall treatments is sure to make both pets and their owners extremely comfortable while waiting for services. The reception area and boutique are appointed with comfortable leather armchairs, luxury finishes, and a large LCD video screen. Multimedia presentations will be on display for the clients of Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort, & Spa to educate them on medical conditions, the latest procedures and many other issues affecting the health of their pets. Humans will also enjoy lavish comforts during their visits. The reception area contains wireless internet access and there is a complimentary coffee and cocoa bar for Hospital, Resort, & Spa guests.
Our friendly Guest Service Coordinators will check you in and get your pet settled into his or her room quickly and efficiently. We respect your time and want to reduce wait time as much as possible.
Special requests are never a problem when it comes to the care of our guests. We are more than happy to brush your pet daily, give treats, or bundle him up before going outside. Our daily rates are all-inclusive, with the exception of some medical services, so we will never charge extra for those little things that make our guests feel more comfortable and more at home.
While visiting, our dog guests stay in clean, comfortable rooms, not cages. The Resort consists of spacious, luxurious canine suites with high end finishes and soothing music. We provide many choices of bedding, which is laundered daily. There are three types of canine rooms from which you may choose. Dog room sizes are approximately 4 × 4 feet, 5 × 6 feet and 6 × 6 feet. The rooms in the Hillside suite are designed for small to medium sized dogs. Creekside rooms are designed for larger canines. Guests from the same household can room together if you prefer. Woodlands rooms have exterior windows with vista views overlooking the forest and the creek and have web cams. Cottages also have web cams. Most of the rooms have a web cam so you can check in on your pet while you're away. Web cam viewing is available 9 am to 9 pm. The Club House rooms are the largest rooms.
Cats stay in a separate area designated The Cats' Meow. This luxurious area with high end finishes includes the Kitty Condos and two types of rooms from which you may choose. The condos are approximately 11/2 × 2 × 3 feet and adjacent condos can be shared. Tree Top Suites are 3 × 4 feet, have DVD screens for your cat's entertainment and web cams. The Penthouse is 6 × 9 1/2 feet and also has DVD and web cam. The Penthouse is ideal for households that have four or more cats. Each guest is checked on periodically to make sure they are adjusting and comfortable. Just as our canine friends, they receive much loving care and attention.
We walk our canine guests at least four or five times a day. The first walk is a quick five minute potty break, then we give 10-minute walks throughout the day. Weather permitting, we take each guest out to our private dog park for a 15–20 minute playtime every day. Additional walks and playtimes are given when time permits. Rocky Gorge Resort and Spa realizes exercise is essential to your dog's well-being, and we never charge for walks or trips to the dog park. Our Dog Park employs the use of K9 Grass. K9 Grass is a state of the art synthetic grass that is manufactured with AlphaSan, an antimicrobial, which provides a clean, safe outdoor environment for dogs to play.
You may also choose to have your dog participate in our Doggy Day Camp where they can play most of the day under supervision. Doggy Day Camp is a spacious indoor facility with large windows and a special 'soft top flooring' for safety. Doggy Day Camp also utilizes our large outdoor Dog Activity Park for tons of e×ercise and fun.
All of our guest suites are supported by a state of the art kitchen which can meet any special diet requirements. All of our guests' meals are prepared in the resort's fully equipped kitchen. We are happy to provide food for your pet's stay or serve any food you provide. We serve Purina veterinary grade diets for dogs and cats. If you prefer to bring food from home your pet's food will be labeled with your pet's name and feeding instructions and stored separately. Our kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, so special preparations are not a problem. We can even warm the guests' canned food if they prefer. We customize feeding times and will feed on the schedule you request.
We have medical staff available for consultation and treatment should any medical problems arise during your pet's stay. This is especially beneficial for geriatric, diabetic, and chronically ill guests. Prescribed insulin injections and fluids will be administered for a small additional fee during your pet's stay. Pre- and post-surgical care is available if your pet is scheduled to have a procedure while staying with us. Unexpected health issues will be addressed by one of our veterinarians and prescriptions will be filled from our pharmacy. There will be additional charges for office visits, treatments or medications provided. Because you need to be present during your pet's regular exams, please schedule appointments for annual vaccines prior to your pet's stay if they will be required. We are happy to schedule the office visit when you call to make your reservation.
Another great amenity offered by Rocky Gorge Resort to its clientele is real time access to their pets. A client can log on to the internet and view their pet(s) in real time from anywhere in the world. Clients can also review what their pets have done, and where they have been throughout their stay due to Radio Frequency Identification Technology, or RFID, which is installed throughout the entire facility.
We recommend booking reservations as early as possible. Holidays, weekends, and summer months are particularly busy and we may be fully booked two months in advance. A two-day deposit will be taken at the time you make your reservation. This deposit is only refundable if you cancel your reservation with at least five days of notice. If you are not a current client of Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital, Resort & Spa, please be prepared to provide proof of current vaccines and a negative fecal e×am within the past 12 months. For everyone's protection, we require proof of up-to-date rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella vaccinations before a reservation can be made. If you have your veterinarian's telephone number, we will be glad to call their office and have them fa× the records or you can fa× them to the resort at 301-575-5705. We are available to make reservations, check in or check out your pet Monday through Friday 7a.m.–8p.m., Saturday 7a.m.–4p.m. and Sunday 7a.m.–Noon. The resort office is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th.

Our grooming facility has three grooming stations with large wash and drying rooms insuring fast, efficient, and comfortable grooming services. Clients are welcomed to stay and watch their dogs being groomed.
Security and safety is a concern today more than ever and our technology addresses those concerns, as it monitors everything that occurs in or outside our hospital. This security system safeguards you, your pet, and our Hospital and Resort Team.
Every client has a digital record for their pets that they can access on the Internet 24 hours a day via a password protected Pet Portal. Our Pet Portal service is created and maintained by a company called VetStreet and is secure, password protected, and free for your viewing anytime. Pet Portals are a great way to participate in your pet's healthcare, stay up to date on your pet's health needs, and to help you plan when to schedule pet healthcare appointments around your busy schedule.
