Give me lots of love, exercise, and training so I'm a good dog.

Take me to the vet for regular check-ups.

Make sure I get all my vaccinations, and wait until I'm old enough to go out. I don't want to get sick.

When I do something right.....praise me.

When I do something wrong.....say no in a firm voice.....never hit me.

As a puppy I am constantly teething. Please have chew toys for me. I don't want to chew your furniture or new shoes, but if that's all there is available, I probably will chew it.

Please don't push my face in my poop if I go in the wrong place. I don't understand why you do that. Show me where I should go.

Please walk me first thing in the morning and as soon as you get home. It's hard to hold it for 8 hours.

Please move all electrical cords, cleaning fluids, coins, and objects that I can choke on. I like to chew, lick, and swallow these objects because I don't know they're bad for me..... 

Don't cut my claws too short. It hurts and they'll bleed.

Don't leave me alone with children.  Sometimes they pull my tail and I snap at them.  I don't want to bite anyone.

Don't feed me right before you put me in my crate. I can't let myself out to go poop and it hurts to hold it until you get back.

Don't leave me in a car, especially during the summer.

When you chase me while I'm running with the toilet paper roll, it makes it more fun. That's why I keep doing it.

When I tug on the cuffs of your new pants and you run to get away, I think you're playing with me and I love that. If you want me to stop, say no in a firm voice or shake a soda can with pennies in it.  The noise scares me and I'll stop.

Bitter apple spray tastes terrible. Spray it on things you don't want me to chew, including your toes.

I like to test you, but you should always be the boss.  I'll do whatever you tell me to. I want to please you and for you to love me.
